Our Trustees

Pieter
Labuschagne

Pieter, a dedicated father to Anke and Markus, concluded his formal career at the age of 60. He served as a project coordinator at sos-childrensvillages,

making a profound impact on the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Beyond his retirement, Pieter continues to actively support non-governmental organisations such as Lake Farm Centre and Aurora Special Care Centre.

For 45 years, Pieter and Leona have shared a loving marriage, and over the past 24 years, they have called Port Elizabeth their home.

Elaine
Marshall-Botha

Bringing a strong legal background, Elaine spent approximately a decade working as an advocate in private practice before joining the Department of Justice at the Office of the Family Advocate on January 1, 2008.

Elaine resides in Port Elizabeth with her life-partner, Barry Pienaar, and their two children.

Cayleigh
Zambonini

Spanning over a decade, Cayleigh's extensive background in business and marketing brings business acumen and corporate expertise to the Trust.

Cayleigh plays a crucial role in ensuring streamlined management and implementation of growth strategies that align with the Trust's vision and objectives.

Julie Briggs

Julie is a Port Elizabeth entrepreneur and one of the driving forces behind

two businesses built on her passion for sport, the outdoors, and creating experiences that matter.

A proud mom of two girls and devoted aunt to two special needs family members, Julie's personal life has shaped her compassion, resilience, and perspective just as much as her professional journey. She leads with heart - and it shows in everything she does.

When she's not building her businesses, you'll find her outside, chasing adventure and living by her own philosophy: balance between family, purpose, and the great outdoors.

In Memoriam:
Wouter van der Westhuizen

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Wouter, one of the Founding Trustees, on 20 January 2024. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Wouter held the position of Financial Director in a prominent South African national business headquartered in Port Elizabeth. He was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the company this year, which is a testament to his company's success.

Wouter is survived by his wife, Jacqui, and their two children, Leo and Tumi.
